Afrobeats artiste David Adeleke, known as Davido, has said he is no longer focused on gaining Western validation in his music career.

The singer made the remark during an interview on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show.

He said his next phase of music will focus more on African sounds and identity.

Davido noted that after years of global success, including sold-out shows and international recognition, his priorities have shifted.
