Speaking at the interdenominational service for the late monarch in Emure-Ile on Sunday, the governor, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, noted the passion and zeal with which the king wanted empowerment for the people of the town.

He said, “Kabiyesi was always talking about gainful employment for the youth of the community and development of the town as a whole.

“He was, indeed, a pro-people monarch. It is remarkable that he also used his stool to serve God and I pray that his soul will find eternal rest in the Lord,” a statement by the press secretary to deputy governor, John Paul Akinduro, said.

The governor condoled with the children, wives and family of Oba Adeyefa and the people of Emure-ile over the demise of the monarch, asking them to keep the fire burning, and carry on with the legacies of the king.

In his sermon, the Bishop of Owo Anglican diocese, Stephen Fagbemi, who was represented by Ven. Seth Akinro, eulogized the king, describing him as a devout christian, who committed himself to the things of the Lord during his reign.
