A former chairman of Kanam LGA, Hon. Daiyabu Garga, and the deputy speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Saleh Yipmong, recently defected from the APC to the PDP.

The national president of KPY, Comrade Abdullahi Damina, told newsmen after a meeting of the association in Jos yesterday that they defected because the APC lost the 2023 governorship election in the state, adding that they do not have any political ideology.

“All they care is about their selfish political interests which will not add value to the people of Kanam.
Most of these defectors are Jos based politicians who cannot boast of delivering their polling units not to talk of the wards they comes from,” he said.

The convener of the meeting, Abubakar Tanko, said the essence of the congress was to meet with members residing in Jos to brainstorm on the current political happenings in Kanam and revalidate their membership.
