The immediate former Jigawa State governor and minister of defence, Badaru Abubakar, has expressed satisfaction with Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s visionary leadership and excellent performance, which have improved the social and economic life of Jigawa citizens in less than two years.
The minister made the remarks during the flag-off of a Citizen Engagement Programme held in the Auyo local government area of the state.
The Jigawa State government initiated the Citizens Engagement Programme to give the people of the 27 local government areas of the state the opportunity to speak to their leaders about what they need from the government and for the government to tell them what it has been doing through programmes and projects to improve their lives.
Badaru noted that, during the 2023 campaign, he told the Jigawa people that he had confidence in Malam Umar Namadi’s capability to build from where he stopped and even performed better than him.
“Today, I am vindicated. Governor Namadi inherited 26 road projects from my government. Presently, 23 have been completed, and I have just commissioned one of them. Governor Namadi awarded 41 road projects covering over 1,000 Km across the state.”
“Governor Namadi has continued with all inherited projects and programmes and initiated many others under his 12-point Agenda. The social and economic life of Jigawa people is improving, and the state is on the right path for prosperity and greatness.
“We thank Almighty Allah for giving Malam Umar Namadi the ability to perform wonderfully in accordance with President Bola Ahmad Tinibu’s Renewal Hope agenda and the philosophy of our great party, APC. We are proud of him and promise to continue supporting him in delivering Jigawa to a promising land,” the minister stated.
In his remarks at the occasion, one of the APC leaders in the state, Alhaji Ahmad Isa Gerawa, said that the APC in Jigawa State is moving as one family, and they will never allow any selfish person to cause discord in the party.
Alhaji Gerawa added that party politics and governance need tolerance, perseverance, consultation, dedication and inclusiveness to succeed, particularly in the democratic system. He charged the party members and leaders in the state to uphold these virtues.
However, he assured the people of Jigawa that APC and all its leaders will continue to listen to and engage with any individual, group of people, private organisation, or public organisation that indicates interest in helping the government of Malam Umar Namadi deliver the dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
During the occasion, the heads of ministries and agencies narrated what they have done to the people of the Auyo local government in the last two years, and the people of the area expressed their satisfaction with the government intervention and projects executed.
