Minister of defence Gen. Christopher Musa has assured that the security challenges facing the country would soon be overcome going by the strong political will of the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government to confront it.
Speaking while on courtesy call to Governor Umo Eno at Government House in Uyo, the minister, who was in the state to deliver the convocation lecture of the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), said all hands must be on deck to defeat the menace.
He said: “President Bola Tinubu has done well. Part of the things we are doing to assist the government of the day is to put in the kinetic and non-kinetic energies.
“The kinetic means the use of force while the non-kinetic is good governance, which you are also doing here in Akwa Ibom.”
He noted that everyone has a role to play in security management, and called for collaboration with the government by reporting suspicious movements for a more efficient security in the country.
He commended Governor Eno for impactful leadership in the state, noting that “driving across the state, one experiences a unique ambience of good roads and other evidences of good governance.”
He said he had been an ardent follower of the ARISE programmes on television, adding that it was an evidence of where a government is committed to the people.
