A 30-year-old man, Hammed Oyeleke, has appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly digging up a dead woman’s grave to remove her skull.

Oyeleke, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on charges bordering on indignity to a dead woman’s body.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 24, at 1:00 a.m. at Amuloko, Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant improperly interfered and offered indignity to the corpse of one Mrs Anifat Moshood.

Lawal alleged that the defendant dug the deceased’s grave to exhume her body and remove her skull.
