Late Mudiagbe, who is also a market vigilante, was shot in his house after men attacked him in his house at the Decima Area of the town, and made away with his gun and live cartridges.

The Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) in charge of Okpanam police station, a Chief Superintendent of Police, (CSP), Mr Gambo Ado explaining how the sad incident was executed, said the attack took place at the gate of the station while the police officers were driving out in response to the distress call.

Three vigilante men sustained injuries but two had been discharged while the remaining two were unhurt.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Edafe Bright confirmed the arrest that the suspects disappeared into the night as the police approached.

“They were arrested last night. We arrested Obo and it was he who led us to Awanio” he said.

The Commissioner of Police, (CP), Delta State, Ari Muhammed Ali, said the command is closing up on the other members of the gang.

Delta state government has equally decried the attacks by unknown gunmen.
