Demand For Original Result Sheet Stalls APC House Of Assembly Primary In Delta

Determined to obtain what they described as the original result sheet, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday stalled the party’s House of Assembly primary for Ekurede–Ugbori–Ugbuwangue Ward at Ogiame Primary School, Warri, Delta State.

The prospective voters insisted they would not allow a repeat of what they alleged occurred during Monday’s senatorial primary, where they claimed irregularities in the collation and presentation of results.

They alleged that during the senatorial primary held on Monday, May 18, votes were recorded on a plain sheet of paper, only for a different result sheet bearing the APC logo to be presented later in the day, with outcomes that allegedly contradicted results earlier signed by agents at Ogiame Primary School.

Following rising tensions, the APC presiding officer assigned to conduct the House of Assembly primary and an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official were escorted out of the venue by community leaders, relations, and associates to prevent escalation.

An agent of Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, Mr. Tuoyo Ofuyaekpone, told supporters that the exercise did not hold due to what he described as attempts to manipulate the process in favour of another aspirant, Dr. Augustine Uroye.

He maintained that stakeholders rejected the conduct of the exercise until proper electoral materials were provided.

Meanwhile, the APC conducted a peaceful House of Assembly primary in Isoko North Local Government Area, where Engr. Orobosa Ashakah emerged as the party’s candidate for the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Local Government Returning Officer, Hon. Chika Awunzia, who represented the state party secretariat, declared Ashakah winner after collation of results from the 13 federal wards.

Awunzia described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and successful, adding that party members demonstrated commitment to internal democracy.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), journalists, and election observers who monitored the process also confirmed that the exercise was calm and well-conducted.

In Oshimili South Constituency, there was a large turnout of party members at Ugbomanta Ward 8, where supporters gathered to affirm the member representing the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Bridget Anyafulu, as the APC sole candidate.

Anyafulu described the direct primary process as transparent and inclusive, commending party leadership for allowing broad participation in candidate selection.

She said her emergence as a consensus candidate reflected strong grassroots support and pledged improved performance if re-elected.
