Demonic Siege On Cross River Lifted By Gov Otu – Forum

Archbishop of Calabar and president of the Cross River State Christian Leaders Forum, Josef Bassey, has described Cross River State governor, Senator Bassey Otu as God’s answer to the prayers of the people.

He stated that the demonic siege suffered by the state for a very long time had been removed following answers to prayers by the forum.

Speaking yesterday in Calabar at God’s Heritage Centre during a Banquet Gratitude to God for the gift of the governor and his wife, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, Archbishop Bassey said the event was organised to thank God for honouring their long-standing petitions.

“We prayed for a leader that will ensure that the cause of Christ is advanced in the state,” Archbishop Bassey stated. “We prayed for years and gave God the qualification of the man we want.”

He continued, “We are here to thank God for answers to prayers because the prayers of many years have been answered by God through Gov. Otu.”

According to the cleric, the thanksgiving was necessary because progress built over decades can be undone quickly.

“It takes one man to mess up what has been achieved in decades and the essence of the thanksgiving is to ensure that God does more for the state,” he explained.

Archbishop Bassey further noted the spiritual significance of Otu’s emergence as governor.

He said, “Anybody who does not know God could have been a governor,” adding that “Governor Otu emergence has also ensured that a demonic siege is lifted from the state.”

Delivering a keynote address at the event, the deputy governor of Cross River State, Dr. Peter Odey, listed several achievements of the Otu administration.

These include “paying pensions, roads, Tinapa recovery and the impending restoration of the littoral status of the state.”

Dr. Odey maintained that Cross River’s trajectory has shifted positively. “The story of the state is changing for good and nothing can be taken from the state anymore because it’s backed by God,” he declared.
