The Nigerian Dental Therapists’ Association (NDTA) has raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for the Registrar/CEO position of the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (DThRBN).
In a press release signed by the national secretary of NDTA, Comrade Anugwor Joseph Chinedu and issued to our correspondent yesterday, the association expressed worries over the alleged lack of transparency and fairness in the process.
He says grievous irregularities, including alleged transactional processes and ethnic chauvinism have marred the recruitment exercise.
The association alleged that the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) has been working to ensure that candidates from a particular zone emerge successfully, despite obvious inadequacies.
NDTA, therefore, called on the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, and the Minister of State for Health, Dr Ishaq Adekunle Salako, to intervene in the matter.
“The association demands that the ongoing recruitment exercise be cancelled and a fresh, transparent process be conducted to guarantee a level playing ground for all applicants”, he said in the statement.
