In spite of the seeming delay in kicking off the party’s campaign for the 2023 general election, support groups of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have moved on with an intensive campaign for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The party had suspended the inauguration of its presidential campaign council following the outrage that trailed the composition of the 422-member list released by secretary of the council, Hon James Faleke.

The APC campaign team on Wednesday said it was still waiting for President Muhammadu Buhari to determine the date for the kick-off party’s presidential campaign.

Director of Public Affairs/chief spokesman of the campaign council and minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), said the president is both the party national leader and chairman of the campaign council and as such, it would serve the party well to consider his diary in picking and choosing a date to commence the campaign.

But the APC support groups are not leaving anything to chance, as they have taken it upon themselves to emback on rigorous campaign for the party and Tinubu ahead of the 2023 polls.

One of the groups, Tinubu-Shetima Ambassadors (TSA),  was inaugurated yesterday with a vow to rally support for the party.

TSA said Tinubu-Shetima’s outstanding leadership qualities, personal attributes, antecedents alone has proving that Nigerians will be safe under their watch.

Speaking during the official inauguration of Tinubu-Shetima Ambassadors state/zonal coordinators and distribution of campaign materials held in Abuja, the director general of the group, Prince Oyelude Oladele, said the TSA is grassroots mobilization campaign for Tinubu-Shetima 2023 general election.

He described Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a merchant of hope while his running mate Senator Kashim Shetima as a merchant dream, capable of redefining the meaning and concept of modern leadership in Nigeria, adding that we must project their joint ticket as a transformation agenda

“We have identified Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Sen Shetima as joint patriot in words and action. We congratulate president Muhammadu Buhari for allowing a level playing ground during the presidential primary that produces Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC presidential flag bearer for 2023 general election and I must categorically stated that the greatest achievement our president will did is by hand over to a progressive successor in person of Ahmed Tinubu who’s his party candidate in the forthcoming presidential election,” he said.

He further said that as a united front, the common goal is to concentration and mobilization of eligible voters at the wards and units, engagements with major stakeholders in the state and contact with state and local government parliamentarians.
