The People’s Roundtable has unveiled “The People’s Roundtable Platform” (TPR Platform), a web-based civic technology initiative aimed at strengthening engagement between Nigerians and public institutions.
The platform was launched at the maiden People’s Roundtable Conference yesterday in Abuja and is designed to serve as a digital bridge between citizens and government agencies, providing verified information on policies, programmes and opportunities across ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
At the event, the convener of The People’s Roundtable, Emmanuel Ayantayo, said the platform was developed to address information gaps that limit citizens’ participation in governance, especially among young people.
“Many Nigerians want to engage meaningfully with government but lack access to accurate information. The TPR Platform brings trusted information and engagement tools into one place,” he said.
He added that the platform offers updates on government initiatives across sectors such as youth development, entrepreneurship, education, finance, energy, and social development. Users can track MDA activities and access opportunities that impact their livelihoods.
Beyond information sharing, the platform also serves as an online engagement hub for discussions from The People’s Roundtable conferences, allowing conversations and policy dialogues to continue beyond physical events.
It also functions as a repository of insights and recommendations from past roundtable sessions.
The participants described the initiative as timely, noting that misinformation, distrust, and limited feedback channels have contributed to youth disengagement from governance processes.
The launch was supported through collaborations with key public institutions, including NELFUND, Pi-CNG, the Ministry of Youth Development, SMEDAN, OGFZA, and CTLC, whose representatives participated in the maiden roundtable discussions.
Ayantayo said the partnerships highlight the platform’s role as a neutral space for open and solution-driven interaction between government and citizens.
He added that plans are underway to onboard more MDAs, development partners, and private sector stakeholders, alongside future features such as enhanced feedback tools, thematic policy hubs, and community-driven discussions.
As Nigeria continues to seek greater trust and inclusion in governance, the TPR Platform is expected to play a growing role in improving transparency, policy awareness, and citizen participation.
