Abia State head of service (HoS), Joy Maduka, has said ghost worker and salary padding in civil service don’t occur without the knowledge of the directors of administration and finance.
Maduka stated this at a meeting with directors of ministries, departments, and agencies in the state civil service at Michael Okpara auditorium in Umuahia, the state capital.
The HoS also expressed worry and disappointment that some civil servants decline posting, noting that there must be something ulterior behind such action.
She, therefore, warned that going forward, any civil servants, who violated civil service rule would face the consequences as the present administration is poised to repositioning the service.
“This administration will not condone violation of the rules. It is either you fall in line or fall out. And be test assured that if you’re complained against, I will do the necessary,” she said.
She reminded them that as the image of the service, their action or inaction could either make or mar it, and called for a synergy between the service and the administration to achieve its agenda.
One of the respondents and the state director of information, John Emejor, commended Governor Alex Otti for the ongoing reorganisation in the service, assuring Maduka of their dedication to duty.
