Iwuagwu Patricia popularly known as DJ Commissioner Wysei has been arrested for obstructing the police while on duty, resisting arrest as well as assaulting police officers in Lagos.

This contradicts an earlier report that Dj Switch was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.

Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed in a post on his X handle stating ”There is a mix-up from our end. The arrested person is DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch,” while apologising to DJ Switch.

It was gathered that the popular DJ named as one of the five highly effective DJs in CNN’s Inside Africa is said to be currently at the Magistrate Court in Eti Osa.

Sources revealed that the popular Disc Jockey had gone to the Elemoro Division, Ajah on April 15th to report an alleged case of being defrauded by a man.

The alleged accused was arrested on the same day and held in police custody.

Consequently, the police invited the DJ on Wednesday, April 17th to know if the suspect can be granted bail or the case charged to court since the law forbids detention of a suspect beyond 48 hours.

However, the DJ demanded from the alleged suspect an apology to be recorded and posted online which he declined.

Hence, the police resolved to settle the matter by charging the case to court.

It was further revealed that in the process of driving out of the police division with the alleged accused, the DJ allegedly blocked the entrance and assaulted female officers in charge of the case.

The police then arrested the DJ for assault and is expected to be arraigned in the law court as the alleged accused is said to be remanded in prison custody.
