A disengaged assistant chief security officer with the Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), Ifeanyichukwu Orji, has appealed to Abia State Governor Alex Otti to intervene on his ordeal.

Orji made the appeal in a letter to the governor entitled sighted by LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia, the state capital at the weekend.

He said the university relieved him of his job following the recommendation of a judicial panel of inquiry which was followed by a government White Paper vide a letter REG/SS/1/F.868 of February 2011.

”I petitioned this decision through a visitation panel instituted by the government to look into the affairs of the university between 2000 and 2010. The panel reviewed my case and recommended my reinstatement.

”The government accepted the recommendation as shown in the attached relevant pages of the White Paper,” he said.

Orji expressed surprise that over the years, the university, after effecting the relief continued to hesitate in implementing the second recommendation that countered the first.

He said the delay in carrying out the directive could be because a case of such magnitude with its attendant implications requires government directive and possible action.

Orji added, “The injustice is that the university administration has taken no steps to seek and secure government directive.
