A medical doctor, Mrs Maria Fadaka has testified before the Lagos State Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court in Ikeja against Pastor Chris Omosokpea, who allegedly defiled the 17-year-old daughter of one of his members.
Dr Fadaka, a public health officer at Mirabel Medical Centre (a sexual assault referral centre), Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), gave reports of the various medical tests conducted on the survivor.
The mother (name withheld) of the survivor had earlier told the trial judge, Justice Ramon Oshodi that Omosokpea of Peculiar Generation Assembly Church, Oshodi, Lagos, committed the alleged offence under the pretext of going for gospel ministration with her underage daughter.
The defendant is facing a nine-count charge bordering on defilement, rape and sexual assault by penetration.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
While being led in evidence by the state director of public prosecution (DSS), Dr Babajide Martins, the witness told the judge that the survivor presented herself for medical examination on May 12, 2020, a week after the last alleged sexual intercourse with the defendant.
Fadaka testified that the survivor came to Mirabel Centre and complained of rape by her pastor.
The witness also stated, “The survivor said the last sex escapade occurred about a month before her presentation at the centre.’’
“The medical examination showed forceful and repeated vagina penetration,” the doctor maintained.
Justice Ramon Oshodi has adjourned the case to April 27 for the filing and adoption of the no-case submission application by the parties.
