Italy World Cup winning captain, Fabio Cannavaro, has warned Napoli not to break a winning cycle by selling their ‘very best’ in the transfer market.
Napoli’s first Scudetto triumph after 33 years was confirmed last week, with the city still celebrating days later.
Cannavaro has urged the board to build on this victory – and not sell their best players ahead of the summer market.
He said, “Too much time had passed since Napoli’s last Scudetto, it was a fantastic moment.
“We should reduce the wait, it’s too nice to see this city celebrate: the club has understood that winning is good, let’s hope it continues like this.
“(President Aurelio) De Laurentiis must try to keep the whole squad, not just (coach Luciano) Spalletti, (sporting director Cristiano) Giuntoli too: this is a squad that needs to be strengthened and not dismantled.”
