Doris Fisher, co-founder of Gap Inc., has died at the age of 94.

The company confirmed her passing in a statement on Monday, noting that she died peacefully, surrounded by her family. While the cause of death was not disclosed, the retail world has begun mourning a woman described by Gap President and CEO Richard Dickson as a true original.

“There is simply no equal to Doris Fisher. She understood first-hand the value of self-expression, diversity, and inclusion,” Dickson stated. “She worked tirelessly to ensure that Gap Inc. always did more than sell clothes.”
