The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on the Christian community to demonstrate love and togetherness with one another and adherents of other religions for the overall development of the country.
Bauchi State CAN chairman, Reverend Abraham Damina, said this in his Good Friday sermon.
Reverend Damina urged Christians to strive to live righteously and emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ.
He also encouraged the faithful to use the Good Friday and Easter period as an opportunity for somber reflection, introspection and spiritual rejuvenation.
Other Christian leaders in the state echoed similar sentiments. Reverend Refel Adegulola of First Baptist Church Bauchi urged Christians to redouble their efforts in worshiping God and to express gratitude for the blessings of creation through their lifestyles.
Similarly, Reverend Baiko Jimra Fakshi of ECWA Church emphasised the importance of observing spiritual days like Good Friday, saying, such observances serve as a reminder of God’s calling to believers and provide an opportunity for spiritual reflection and renewal.
