Another civil servant, Malam Saheed Shehu, also confirmed that he had been paid his April salary.

They said the payment of the April salaries at this time would enable the Christian civil servants celebrate Easter with their family without a hitch.

The chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, Comrade Murtala Olayinka, thanked the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the gesture.

“At a time like this, workers are always stranded financially because this is the middle of the month and the salary may not come. So, if salaries are not paid, how would the civil servants and their families celebrate Easter? This is why we thank Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his thoughtfulness in paying workers’ salaries at this time,” Olayinka stated.
