The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has deployed 2,280 personnel to man security during the Easter celebrations across the state.

The spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, Ayoola Michael, said the state Commandant, Bala Bodinga, ordered the deployment of the personnel for the crucial assignment.

Bodinga stated that the deployment was designed to preempt potential disruptions of law and order during the Easter festivities and prevent mischief-makers from causing mayhem.

He reassured the public that the Corps’ presence will be visible and strategic across churches, recreational centres, motor parks, shopping complexes, and other critical locations, deterring criminal activity and ensuring a safe festive period.

He noted that surveillance and patrol operations have been intensified in both urban and rural communities, with tactical units and rapid response squads on standby to swiftly address any emerging threats.

Bodinga charged all officers to take resolute and decisive action against individuals with criminal intentions, particularly those bent on vandalising national assets or government infrastructure.

He warned that anyone planning to disrupt public order during Easter should reconsider their actions, as offenders would be apprehended immediately and made to face the full force of the law.
