Ecobank Nigeria has launched the Lagos Pop-Up Museum, an art experience in partnership with the Yaba Art Museum of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), as part of its drive to promote African creativity and cultural innovation.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) in Lagos, Head, SMEs, Partnerships and Collaborations at Ecobank Nigeria, Omoboye Odu, described the initiative as ‘a living, breathing cultural experience designed to engage everyone from art lovers to curious minds.’

According to Odu, the Lagos Pop-Up Museum will run from November 8, 2025, to February 10, 2026, with a lineup of exhibitions, workshops, performances, and artist talks. She noted that the project ‘unfolds like a Netflix series with multiple seasons’ and aims to bridge ‘institutional knowledge with civic consciousness.’

“The Lagos Pop-Up Museum is not your regular art show; it is a creative intervention that proves art isn’t just for walls; it’s for life, learning, and transformation,” she said.

Highlighting the bank’s broader vision, Odu reaffirmed Ecobank’s commitment to promoting Pan-African heritage, youth development, and inclusive cultural dialogue.

“As a Pan-African bank, we’ve always believed Africa’s greatest asset isn’t oil or gold — it’s talent. At Ecobank, we believe art and culture aren’t ‘nice-to-haves’; they’re powerful forces for unity, innovation, and economic growth. Or as we like to say, art is an investment with better colours,” she stated.

She explained that the project aligns with Ecobank’s CSR pillars, education, innovation, sustainability, and African identity ,which are reflected in recent initiatives such as the Adire Lagos Experience and Oja-Ògè Fashion Pop-Up.

On the partnership with YABATECH, Odu described it as “a natural fit,” emphasising the synergy between art, innovation, and enterprise.“When art meets innovation and banking provides the glue, magic happens. This collaboration also supports YabaTech’s ‘Gown to Town’ initiative, taking classroom creativity into the real world where it can inspire and create opportunity.”
