A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Nosa Osasuyi, has carpeted the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) for hiding their inability to win the forthcoming election behind the court judgement.
Osasuyi told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that the APC resorted to lies because it knew it couldn’t win the September 21 governorship election in a free and fair contest.
According to him, the facts stare them frontally, so they hide behind a finger-twisting the judgement of the Federal High Court in Abuja
He said the misrepresentation of disqualification was a cheap blackmail to curry votes from unsuspecting voters in the state.
The PDP chieftain advised the opposition party to accept defeat even before the election, as their candidate was unable to govern the state.
He warned that instead of concentrating on meaningful campaigns, they are twisting court judgments upside down.
The party chieftain said Edo voters are more knowledgeable than the APC thinks, and their defeat is so pronounced even before the election.
It will be recalled that the court ruled that the exclusion of some ward delegates ran foul of the party constitution but had nothing to do with the flag bearer of the PDP in Edo State.
