Edo Commission’s DG Nominated For Strategic Development Governance Award

The Unveiling African Parliament Writers Network (UAPWN) has nominated the director-general of Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDHIC), Dr Augusta Enaholo, for the conferment of the African Trailblazers Excellence Merit Award for Strategic Development in Governance.

UAPWN, in partnership with Parliamentary Initiatives at the ECOWAS Commission Annex in Abuja, recognises leaders who advance people-focused development through policy innovation and public service commitment.

The organisation, through a press statement issued in Jos, Plateau State by its president, Justin Ihunne, explained that Enaholo’s selection underscored her profound contributions to Nigeria’s healthcare reform landscape, marked by multidisciplinary expertise in law, public administration, and corporate governance.

He said under her watch, EDHIC has broadened access to equitable healthcare insurance, curtailed out-of-pocket expenditures, and fortified system governance—establishing Edo State as a benchmark for regional health insurance. advancement.

“The introduction of innovative cross-border health insurance solutions at the national SHARE forum, encompassing Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, exemplifies alignment with ECOWAS health equity objectives and sustainable development imperatives.
