Deputy governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, has lost his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, who passed on at the age of 95.
The family of the deceased announced her passing in a statement issued yesterday, noting that she died peacefully on April 8, 2026.
According to the statement signed by the chief press secretary to the deputy governor, Friday Aghedo, the late Madam Idahosa, née Enabulele, was a revered matriarch from Ovia South West local government area.
He described her as a woman of strong faith, admirable character and deep commitment to her family and community, adding that she lived a fulfilled and impactful life.
“The Idahosa and Enabulele families announce the peaceful passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, at the age of 95,” the statement read.
It further noted that her legacy of wisdom and values would continue to inspire generations.
The family expressed gratitude to God for her long life and requested prayers and understanding from the public as they mourn their loss.
Details of her funeral arrangements, the statement added, will be announced in due course.
