Edo Deputy Governor, Super Eagles Stars For Paris Sports Award

Paris is gearing up for the much-anticipated inaugural Nigeria-France Sports Awards and Gala, set to be a grand gathering of both past and present Nigerian athletes, sports administrators, and prominent media figures. This unique event, designed to shine a spotlight on outstanding Nigerian athletes excelling in various sports on French soil, marks a historic first in France.

Among those to grace the occasion is the sport loving deputy governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu, and some selected Super Eagles Stars.

The Awards and Gala night will be a platform for recognising exceptional sportsmen and women, as well as individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria.

Shaibu’s invitation is in recognition and appreciation of his immense contributions to the development of sports, especially football in Nigeria. He is one of the very few Nigerians VIP so recognised.

This premier sports event, scheduled to take place aboard the Louisiana Belle boat in Paris, is poised to attract an illustrious audience, including elite sports personalities, high-ranking government officials, sports administrators, and distinguished dignitaries. Among the notable attendees will be Ambassador Tunde Mustapha, Nigeria’s Ambassador to France; H.E. Dr. Hajo Sani, Ambassador permanent delegate of Nigeria to UNESCO; His Excellency Rt. Hon Philip Shuaibu, deputy governor of Edo State; Hon. Dr. Mercy Akpama, Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Youths and Sports Development; Mr. Sola Aiyepeku; Adam Mouktar Muhammed; Yusuf Alli; executive chairmen and commissioners for Sports from Lagos, FCT, and Edo States, respectively.
