A former member of the House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Edo State, Hon Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, yesterday appealed to those to be selected as delegates to the February 22 primary election of the party not to sell their votes.

Ogbeide-Ihama made the appeal at Uromi and Auchi while addressing leaders and members of the party during a tour of Edo Central and Edo North senatorial districts, urging them to support him to pick the ticket of the party for the September 21 governorship election in the state.

“Don’t sell your votes, shun money bags who want to buy your conscience. We must reflect on the hardship and pains of the last seven years as party members and vote Ogbeide-Ihama as PDP candidate.

“I am appealing and offering myself to you because I know where we are coming from and I want to be a governor that works for the people,” he said.

He noted that he had been with the people and had been tested and trusted as their representative for eight years.

“I have been with you and will work for you. Our mission is a collective one and together we can make it a reality. Nobody can force anyone on us,” he stated.

The guber aspirant who held that the Edo State Government House is not for sale, added that it is the right time for the people to take what rightly belongs to them.

“I want to plead with you not to sell your tomorrow and continue with the pains you are passing through. We cannot afford to suffer for another four or eight years. Vote wisely; vote Ogbeide-Ihama and let’s build Edo together,” he said.

He said if elected, he would fix all the internal bad roads and collaborate with the federal government to ensure all the federal roads in the state are fixed.

PDP chairman, Edo North Senatorial district, Sherriff Idenobemeh, said Ogbeide-Ihama had worked for the party and should be given the ticket, saying “Legacy has suffered enough; it is time to take over Osadebe Avenue. We must not sell our votes.”
