Edo State government has partnered a private production company, Native Media TV to create a yet-to-be-titled 78-episode telenovela that will address issues of illegal migration, human trafficking, rehabilitation and redemption.

Speaking on the importance of the upcoming series, chief executive officer (CEO) of Native Media, Dr Rogers Ofime said siting the story in Edo State not only highlights its historical background with irregular migration but gives authenticity to the narratives.
Ofime further commended the wife of the Edo State Governor, Betsy Obaseki, whose female empowerment initiatives and support of women-focused charities and organisations are targeted at reducing coercive forces that aid human trafficking and reintegrate victims into the society.
He further applauded the state’s Commission of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, led Commissioner Uyi Oduwa Malaka whose achievements in the creative sector has been instrumental in making Edo State a hospitable environment for filmmakers.
Upon completion of production, the series will air on all Multichoice and Africa Magic platforms in addition to Showmax and Peacock, and available to audiences in 48 African countries.
