The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has condoled with the deputy governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, over the death of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa. She passed on at the age of 95.
In a statement yesterday jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the chapel, Patrick Ochoga and Patrick Ahanor, the council described the late nonagenarian as a woman of admirable virtues, whose life was marked by service, resilience and dedication to both family and community.
The union said, “The late Madam Idahosa lived a fulfilled life, and her longevity is a testament to her strength of character and the enduring values she upheld.”
The chapel noted that her legacy is reflected in the lives of her children and all those who came in contact with her.
“We join the Deputy Governor, the Idahosa family, and the people of Edo State in mourning this great loss. Losing a mother, regardless of age, is always a deeply painful experience,” the statement added.
The Correspondents’ Chapel also prayed for divine comfort for the deputy governor and his family, urging God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
They further prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
