The chairman of All Progressives Congress Diaspora (Italian chapter), Pastor Mike Oputteh, has urged party leaders in Edo State to close ranks and support the leadership of Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s quest to make APC reclaim control of state with the September 21, 2024 governorship election.
Oputteh, who is also the national welfare officer of the National Union of Nigerian Association, (NUNAI) in Italy, also called for restrain over what he described as ‘sponsored media attacks’ against Oshiomhole’s leadership to ensure that the party produces a popular and acceptable candidate that can win election for the party.

He urged party faithfuls in the state to emulate the political leadership of President Bola Tinubu when he held sway as the governor of Lagos State.
He said the acrimony and the seeming division in the party over who fly the party’s flag shouldn’t tear the party apart and asserted that the party must be united to confront Obaseki’s led PDP.
He also described as ‘selfish’ the aspiration of governorship aspirants from Edo North even as he hailed the decision of those who abide by the outcome of the Professor Julius Ihonvbere’s panel.

He posited, “It is imperative at this point that the APC must be united more than ever before and come together as a formidable political party ready to wrestle power from the PDP. We should allow our supreme leader of the party, Senator Adams Oshiomhole to take the charge in deciding who is best to fly our Party’s flag and of course a candidate that can bring in the votes.
“So my candid advice to all aspirants of our party, is to join hands together with our leader, Sen. Adams Oshiomole to build our party just as lagosians work with Tinubu to build the political structure in Lagos State as it is today.

“We must accept and queue behind anybody that eventually emerges and stop the division if we are serious about taking over the state”.
