Education stakeholders in Zamfara State, including the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON), and the Education Secretaries Forum, have commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his commitment to reviving the education sector.
The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the governor, where the groups applauded his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment, and sustained support for educational development in the state.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of Governor Lawal, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), assured them of the administration’s determination to sustain the progress recorded in the sector.
Professor Anka reaffirmed that Governor Lawal remains committed to providing the necessary support and resources required for the effective discharge of their responsibilities. He noted that the declaration of a State of Emergency on Education by the governor underscored the administration’s resolve to restore the sector’s lost glory.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Director of Academic Services at ZSUBEB, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, highlighted key milestones achieved under the current administration, particularly in policy reforms, infrastructural development, teacher capacity building, and improved learning outcomes.
He called on all education stakeholders to view the New Year as a chance for thorough reflection, strategic assessment, and the coming up with of innovative ideas to boost educational progress across the state.
In separate goodwill messages, the chairmen of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, AOPSHON, and the Education Secretaries Forum, Comrade Sanusi Abdullahi Sarkin Daji Anka, Abdullahi Iliyasu, and Aminu Jibril, respectively, expressed gratitude to Governor Lawal for prioritising education. They reaffirmed their loyalty, cooperation, and commitment to partnering with the state government to ensure the successful implementation of its education reform agenda.
