EFCC Arrests 140 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Lagos

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday, said it has arrested 140 suspected fraudsters also known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ in Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The anti-graft agency in a statement by its Head, Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were nabbed in separate sting operations at popular hotels, Lakers Lounge Hotel and Bar and De Butlers, in Ikorodu, following credible intelligence on their involvement in internet-related fraud.

 

According to him, four of the suspects were released because no incriminating item was found on them.

Uwujaren said items recovered from the suspects include exotic cars, electronic devices, laptop computers and mobile phones.

 

‘’The suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded,’’ he stated.
