The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged Nigerians not to give up hope despite the current economic and social challenges confronting the country, as Muslims across Nigeria and the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

In a goodwill message, signed by National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, to commemorate the Sallah celebration, the party extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful, describing Eid-el-Kabir as a season that symbolises sacrifice, faith, obedience, and compassion.

The party acknowledged that this year’s celebration is taking place amid worsening hardship for many Nigerians, with rising food prices, unemployment, insecurity, and economic uncertainty placing heavy burdens on millions of households across the country.

According to the ADC, many Nigerians are facing difficult times, but citizens must continue to believe in the possibility of a better future for the nation.

The party noted that the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir are particularly relevant at a time when many citizens are struggling, stressing that faith becomes most meaningful during periods of adversity.

The ADC said it remains optimistic that Nigeria can overcome its current difficulties and emerge stronger, safer, and more prosperous. The party expressed hope for a nation where leadership prioritises the welfare of the people, young people can pursue their aspirations, farmers can work safely, businesses can thrive, and citizens can live with dignity.

It also urged Nigerians not to surrender to despair, insisting that the present challenges should not overshadow the possibility of national recovery and progress.

The opposition party further called on leaders at all levels to reflect on the responsibilities of leadership and the need to work towards easing the suffering of citizens.

The ADC prayed for peace, healing, relief for struggling families, and greater unity among Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
