Eid-el- Kabir: NSCDC, FRSC Deploy 3,430 Personnel In Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps( NSCDC, Kwara State Command has deployed 2,480 operatives across the 16 local government areas of the state to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Similarly, the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Kwara State Sector Command has deployed 950 officers and marshals, including special marshals and first responders to ensure hitch- free vehicular movement during the festival.

The spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, Ayoola Michael said the deployment, approved by the state commandant,Abbas Mohammed, is aimed at protecting critical national assets, maintaining public order, and safeguarding lives and property throughout the festive period.

“Personnel for the operation were drawn from specialised units of the Corps, including the Armed Squad, Operation Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit. The deployment is intelligence-driven, with strategic attention focused on prayer grounds, Recreational centers and other sensitive locations across the state.

“Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have also been directed to intensify patrols, strengthen surveillance, and ensure rapid response to security concerns within their areas of responsibility,” Michael said.

He added that the commandant urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, warning that the Corps would not hesitate to deal decisively with individuals seeking to disrupt public peace and order.

The Federal Road Safety Corps in a statement signed by the
public education officer, Olayinka Basambo said that 16 patrol vehicles, four ambulances, a 70 tonnes tow-truck have also been deployed to monitor all roads during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations across the state.

Basambo added that the state sector commander, Kabiru Kazeem has deployed personnel for traffic control at strategic locations within Ilorin township and major cities in the state for the Eid-el- Kabir special patrol scheduled from 25th to 31st May 2026.

She admonished motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations through out the celebration.
