The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain fully committed to overcoming security challenges and restoring a safe and secure nation.
He gave the assurance in his goodwill message commemorating the 2026 Eid al-Kabir celebration.
He said the occasion is a reminder of the sacrifice, faith and obedience exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, whose willingness to give all in obedience to a greater call remains a timeless lesson for humanity.
He added that the occasion also reminds us that love for country, sacrifice for one another and commitment to peace and unity are noble virtues that ultimately lead to harmony, stability and prosperity for the nation.
He expressed appreciation to security and intelligence partners across Ministries, Departments and Agencies for their continued synergy in addressing the security challenges confronting our nation. “To all Nigerians who continue to stand by the AFN with prayers, trust and all forms of support, I assure you that the AFN, working within a Whole-of-Government Approach, remains fully committed to overcoming all challenges and restoring the safe and secure nation we all desire.”
He further thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for his unwavering support to our Armed Forces.
“It is my prayer that under Mr President’s sterling leadership, our great nation will continue to thrive while our compatriots will remain united in prosperity and safety. Once again, I wish all Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid al-Kabir celebration. God bless the Armed Forces of Nigeria and long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
