Eid-el-Maulud: Jigawa Extends Public Holiday To Tuesday

The Jigawa State government has declared Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 as a public holiday to mark the celebration of the Eid-el-Maulud, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

LEADERSHIP recalls that the federal government had on Friday, September 13, 2024 declared Monday, September 16th as a public holiday to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet.

 

The declaration was conveyed in a statement signed by the Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Muhammad K. Dagaceri, and made available to newsmen through his Public Relations Officer, Comrade Samaila Ibrahim Dutse.

“I write to inform you that the Government has declared 14th R/Awwal, 1446AH (17th September 2024) as a work free day to celebrate the Birthday (Maulud Nabiy) of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

 

“Jigawa State Government is congratulating all Muslim faithful in Jigawa State and the country at large for this year’s occasion, and we do hope it will be used for sober reflection and strengthen adherence to the teaching and virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) embodied upon service to Allah and Humanity.”

Dagaceri, enjoined workers in the state to utilise the period for prayer to Allah (S.W.A) for His protection and guidance to their leaders for peace and progress in the state and the country.
