Well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations have been urged to support the Ekiti State government’s efforts to properly nurture the youth populace and secure their future.

The commissioner for youth development, Mr. Gold Adedayo, who made the call, expressed the present administration’s commitment to forging impactful development partnerships with the private sector to safeguard the future of the state’s youth.

Adedayo spoke while receiving 23 laptop computers from Cavista Holdings, a leading Nigerian investment company and owner of Agbeyewa Farms Limited, to the Resource/Job Centre initiative and the Ekiti State Ministry of Youth Development.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cavista Holdings to establish a state-of-the-art cassava farm spanning 100,000 hectares within the state.

The commissioner thanked the donors and development partners who have made the Youth empowerment initiative a success.

He explained that the centre was established to enhance technological infrastructure, develop human capital and provide employment opportunities for youth development.

Adedayo said the center would offer young people much-needed career tools, skill acquisition programs, career counseling, entrepreneurship support, and job placement opportunities, amongst other objectives.

Describing Governor Oyebanji as an exemplary leader with a strong implementation-oriented perception, Adedayo stressed that the Governor’s target is to nurture the youths and give them the enabling structures and support required to make them self-sufficient and assets to the State.

He assured that the equipment would be judiciously utilized, enhancing connection, networking, and engagement with peers and mentors as well as enrollment and follow-up on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Earlier, while officially presenting the laptop computers, the Chairman of Cavista Holdings, Mr. John Olajide, lauded Governor Oyebanji’s efforts to develop the State and improve the general well-being of the people, particularly the youth.
