The Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community has urged Nigerians especially Muslims to come out boldly, en masse to perform their civic responsibilities by casting votes wisely for the candidates of their choice.

The Muslim Community also urged the youths to shun violence before, during and after the election. Muslim brothers and sisters should not engage themselves in any act of violence capable of harming the peaceful election rather they should be seen promoting peace as preached by Prophet Mohammed.

According to a statement signed by League of Imams Lagos State House of Assembly ‘ No life is worth losing, any form of violence should be prevented irrespective of provocation, harassment, intimidation and confrontation from any person or group of people during the polls.

“The Muslim community is using this medium to pray for all the candidates who are contesting for various political posts, charging them to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the election.

“We appreciate efforts of both the Lagos State government and the Federal Government for providing adequate security in order to forestall any break down of violence that may arise doing the Polls”, the Imams said

The statement described Lagos State as a peaceful state owing to the effort of the government that has taken adequate protection for its residents irrespective of tribe and religious affiliation.
