Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has expressed deep disappointment following the dismissal of his ₦10 billion fundamental human rights lawsuit against Lere Olayinka, an aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking shortly after the ruling on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Ike questioned the court’s interpretation of fundamental human rights, arguing that victims of online harassment and rights violations are left without justice.
“It’s even crazy that your right will be violated and the judge will tell you it’s not a fundamental human right. Then what is a fundamental human right? The embarrassment, the bullying online,” Ike stated.
The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Salim Ibrahim, dismissed the suit after upholding preliminary objections filed by the respondents.
Justice Ibrahim ruled that the lawsuit was incompetent and improperly constituted, bringing an end to the actor’s legal bid for ₦10 billion in damages.
