Enyimba were knocked out of the competition after a goalless draw with Al Ahli Benghazi of Libya in Aba on Sunday.

The Nigerian champions went into the second leg of their Champion League’s first round matches with a strong hope after playing out 4-3 with the Libya side in the first leg in Benghazi, Libya.

Playing at home and in front of their supporters, the Peoples’ Elephant dominated the proceedings but the visitors put up spirited fight to shut out the attacking threats of the host. The North-Africans sat back and thwart every attacking move of Finidi George-led team.

The home fans were left disappointed at the end as a 1-0 win would have seen Enyimba scale through to the second round.
