Member representing Fika/Fune federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Buba Jajere, has commended the remarkable academic achievements of three outstanding girls from Yobe State who earned global recognition at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.

The trio—Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Khadija Kalli Kashim—emerged among the top winners in the prestigious international academic competition, which brought together students from over 30 countries across different continents.

Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu was named Overall World Best in English Language Skills, a rare accomplishment that placed her above participants from English-speaking nations. Rukayya Muhammad Fema emerged as the World Best in Debate, showcasing her critical thinking and eloquence, while Khadija Kalli Kashim was honoured with the Outstanding Talent Award (Gold Medal), celebrating her creativity and unique gift.

Hon. Jajere described their victories as a shining example of what the Nigerian child can achieve with the right support system, adding that their performance is a beacon of hope for education in Northern Nigeria and the country.

“On behalf of myself and the good people of Fika/Fune federal constituency, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to these brilliant daughters of Yobe. Their triumph on the global stage is a source of immense pride, as it showcases the intellectual capacity, discipline, and confidence of our young people.”

He further noted that excelling in a competition of such international magnitude, especially in categories dominated by native speakers, is a testament to the girls’ determination, resilience, and talent.

“This outstanding feat is not just a personal victory; it reflects the quiet revolution taking place in our schools. It proves that, with a solid educational foundation and the right motivation, our children can compete and win on any stage in the world.”

The lawmaker expressed deep appreciation to the teachers, schools, and parents who played critical roles in shaping the success of the young champions. He acknowledged their efforts in raising students who embody the values of excellence, leadership, and ambition.

Hon. Jajere also used the opportunity to encourage other students across Yobe and Nigeria to be inspired by the achievements of Nafisa, Rukayya, and Khadija.

They have become role models for thousands of children. Their story reminds us that dreams are valid and achievable, regardless of background. I hope this achievement will ignite a new wave of academic ambition, especially among girls in the North and throughout the country.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting educational programmes and policies that promote youth development, international exposure, and academic excellence.

The TeenEagle Global Finals is one of the world’s most respected international academic contests. It is designed to test teenagers’ abilities in English language skills, debate, public speaking, and talent presentations. The 2025 edition, held in London, was highly competitive, bringing together participants from across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

As Nigeria celebrates this proud moment, Hon. Mohammed Buba Jajere’s message of encouragement and recognition stands as a call to action, a call to invest more in the intellectual development of the next generation and to believe in the promise of Nigerian youth.
