The European Union Election Follow-Up Mission (EU-EFM) in Nigeria 2025 has urged the Nigerian authorities to demonstrate non-partisanship in the appointment of a new chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and also embark on quick electoral reforms to restore public confidence in the 2027 general elections.

The EU-EFM Chief of Mission in Nigeria, Mr Barry Andrews told a news conference in Abuja on Friday that, that these have become necessary   as time appears to be running out on Nigeria following the apparently less than impressive implementation of the recommendations  offered by the European Union Election Observer Mission( EU-EOM)after the 2023 general elections.
