Ewi Exponent, Olanrewaju Adepoju, Dies At 83

Veteran poet and Yoruba culture promoter, Playwright , Chief Olanrewaju Adepoju is dead

It has been confirmed that the popular artiste died at his Idi Orogbo off Ring Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State residence around 7pm on Sunday evening after a rather protracted old-age related ailments.

One of his sons, who spoke in anonymity, confirmed that Adepoju died at 83 as he celebrated his 80th birthday three years ago.

He said, “Our father’s age should be officially quoted to be 83 years as we celebrated his 80 years three years ago with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren”.

The late valiant ‘Ewi exponent’ who waxed several records to fight against societal ills and military adventure in politics once told newsmen that he never experienced being in a classroom to learn.
