Ekechi, a former commissioner for Information in Imo state, presented the grants to the women’s wing of Imerienwe Peoples Assembly (IPA) at his Umuoye country home in the Ngor-Okpala local government area over the weekend. This act was part of fulfilling his commitment made during the 2023 home and abroad women August meeting to assist 28 women with N100,000 each.

“The money is a gift to help you improve your businesses and your families. Please avoid spending on uniforms or unnecessary expenses; focus on growing your business to reduce the number of members seeking loans,” Ekechi advised. He expressed his desire to continue the support based on how well the recipients utilize these funds.

He urged the women to invest wisely in their businesses and avoid extravagant spending, with the goal of improving their finances and family situations.

Mrs. Florence Anoruo, President of the Imerienwe Women’s wing, expressed gratitude to Ekechi for his generosity, committing to the successful use of the funds.

Mr. Casmir Okoro, the President General of Imerienwe Peoples Assembly, also thanked Ekechi for his unconditional support to the community. Okoro expressed the union’s support for Ekechi’s developmental agenda and prayed for God’s blessings on the beneficiaries.
