A former deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has joined millions of Nigerians in fervent supplications for the freedom of former lawmaker, Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, abducted last week in the state.
Prince Madumere made this known through a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
He expressed concern over cases of kidnapping in the state, including the recent abduction of Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, a former member of the Imo State House of Assembly, who was abducted by suspected hoodlums,
according to the viral video on social media space.
Prince Madumere called for God’s supernatural intervention and urged security agencies to intensify efforts so as to ensure the immediate release of Hon. Ogbu.
He said, ” We must continue to pray for God’s supernatural intervention on behalf of our brother, Hon. Ogbu for speedy release and called on security agencies to work assiduously in order to secure his release. “With God on our side, victory is assured”.
The former deputy governor emphasised the challenging scenario of Hon. Ogbu, whose beloved mother’s remains currently lie in the morgue, awaiting burial.
Prince Madumere stressed that the abduction of known and unknown members of the public is a tragic reminder of the urgent need for cohesion, unity, vigilance, and collective responsibility.
He called on the citizenry to remain committed and steadfast in prayers and support the security agencies in their conscientious tasks to combat crime and criminality.
Prince Madumere said, “Let us continuously pray to God and support our security personnel as they strive to retrieve our brother, Hon. Ogbu, from the hands of his captors and all other abducted individuals back to their families. ” he submitted.
Prince Madumere urged the populace to pray earnestly for all abducted persons, calling on Almighty God to use the security agencies to rescue all those abducted by hoodlums.
Prince Madumere said, ” Imo belongs to us and we must all join hands through the Journey of Grace to make it better, a new Imo is possible.”
