Former Manchester United player Anthony Martial has officially signed for AEK Athens.

The Greek side complete the move for the 28-year-old on a free deal, as the player is expected to arrive Wednesday.

The French international spent nine years with the Red Devils though he never managed to break through and meet expectations that came with his €60m transfer from Monaco.

The player has been available in the transfer market as a free agent, with initial reports suggesting a potential move to Brazil amid interest from Flamengo.

That is until Greek side AEK Athens came in and sealed the deal for the 28-year-old striker.

Although official numbers have not been disclosed yet, ‘Daily Mail’ reports that Martial will be earning €3m net per season, which would make him the highest earner in the Athenians’ history.

Having penned a three-year contract, which would see him stay in Greece until 2027, Martial is expected in Athens.

The official announcement from AEK Athens arrived on Wednesday morning, after talks were advancing earlier this week.

Martial, therefore, closes his chapter in the Premier League after nearing a decade in England to begin his journey in Greece.
