A former managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr HBala Usman, has appealed to the government at all levels to invest more in the health sector, especially in the rural areas for the benefit of women.
She spoke at the weekend during a conference organised by the Funtua Consultative Forum with the theme: “One Health Concept” and launching of Funtua Trumpet magazine. The sub theme of the event: “One Health and the importance of community engagement in disease outbreak investigation.”
Hajiya Bala Usman was represented by the former Katsina State commissioner for land, Alhaji Abubakar Sada, also commended the forum for mobilising youths for positive development especially at this crucial period. She launched the magazine with the sum of N1million.
The citation of the chief launcher as read by the chairman of the forum, Dr Zaharadeen Idris, described Hajiya Bala Usman as a “technocrat, politician, a philanthropic politician and a woman of great repute and an icon in the community and also a great role model for our modern women.”
