Johnnie Walker AfroExchange — A dynamic cultural platform connecting Africa’s most exciting talents across music, art, fashion, and storytelling, has been unveiled.

The platform which was curated by iconic brand, Johnnie Walker AfroExchange, is a cultural platform inspired by the brand’s iconic Keep Walking ethos. Designed to spotlight the pulse and possibility of the continent, it brings together creative voices from two African cities at a time—starting with Lagos and Johannesburg. Through music, fashion, food, and art, the platform connects the people and stories shaping global culture from an African lens. It is bold, unapologetic, and rooted in identity, influence, and collaboration.

The Lagos send-off, which also served as the media unveiling of the campaign, brought together friends, collaborators, and culture insiders to celebrate the three Nigerian Johnnie Walker AfroExchange ambassadors — Bnxn, Dope Caesar and Saga who represented Nigeria at the main event in Johannesburg on Saturday, 28 June.

Set in the creative backdrop of Trib3 Lagos, the event invited guests to experience the cultural connection between Nigeria and South Africa through music, conversation, and shared energy. The space was designed to feel intimate yet expressive, setting the tone for an evening rooted in collaboration, creativity, and the spirit of Johnnie Walker AfroExchange.

Ifeoma Agu, Group Head of Culture, Influencer and Advocacy at Diageo South, West, and Central Africa, shared her thoughts on what AfroExchange means for both the brand and the continent’s creative future:

“At Johnnie Walker, we believe in celebrating those who challenge convention, shift culture and shape what’s next. Johnnie Walker AfroExchange represents a powerful evolution in how we engage with culture as a brand. We believe in championing progress through this platform as we are investing in voices, stories and innovations driving the Afrocultural movement forward. It is a cultural bridge that pays tribute to Africa’s bold creators – a space for connection, creative experimentation, influence and cultural pride.”

The night opened with a high-energy DJ set before shifting into a conversation hosted by Ehis, where Joey Akan and Quincy Jonze explored how Afrobeats and Amapiano are influencing each other across the continent. The Nigerian talents also shared what Johnnie Walker AfroExchange means to them and the importance of showing up for Nigerian creativity on a bigger African stage.

The night concluded with a genre-blending set by DJ Titanium, mixing Afrobeats and Amapiano, the perfect soundtrack to an evening filled with rhythm, culture, and creative exchange.

Johnnie Walker has consistently positioned itself as the afrocentric collaborator of Africa’s creative economy — going beyond sponsorship to actively champion music, art, fashion, and film across the continent.

With Johnnie Walker AfroExchange, the brand takes this commitment even further, offering an immersive space for expression, exchange, and cultural pride.

The inaugural edition took place in Johannesburg on Saturday, June 28, spotlighting a creative exchange between top talents from Lagos and Johannesburg.

From Afrobeats and fashion to digital storytelling, this Gidi x Jozi moment sets the stage for more AfroExchange experiences, with Lagos up next later this year.

Johnnie Walker AfroExchange’s journey extends beyond Lagos and Johannesburg.

In due time, the platform will travel across Africa, with each edition shaped by the unique creative DNA of its host city.
