Ehiz Uwague, the Tennis Section Captain of the club, expressed high hopes for the upcoming rounds which kick off today.

“The matches are set to become increasingly intense, and we anticipate standout performances from the players. As the group matches evolve, I foresee even more captivating encounters, with players striving to secure their places in the final rounds,” Uwague stated.

To date, the Shell/NNPC Tennis Tournament has showcased some exhilarating matches, including a thrilling comeback victory for Stephen Ezeagu and a hard-fought win for Uwague.

Spectators can expect a nail-biting atmosphere as matches scheduled between today and Wednesday promise to deliver top-notch competition, given the excellent form displayed by many participants.

In tonight’s fixtures, N. Etomi will face J. Ojo, O. Oluwawenimo will clash with L. Talabi, and E. Adebayo will battle E. Ejehi for a coveted spot in the next round, while Kallada Kienka takes on O. Oti. Additional matches include E. Uwague against A. Farinu, P. Udoetuk versus H. Etomi, and A. Mustafa facing M. Sule. The team event will follow the singles matches later in the day, with the Tennis Section competing against the Badminton Section, while the Swimming and Squash Sections go head-to-head in the Red Group.
