Nigeria’s drive to attract foreign investment and strengthen international business partnerships will take centre stage as the third edition of The Expatriates Business Award (TEBA) holds in Abuja on August 20, bringing together government officials, diplomats, expatriate businesses and investors.

The event is expected to serve as a platform for promoting economic diplomacy, recognising foreign investors and encouraging stronger bilateral and multilateral business relationships.

Speaking on the planned event and its targets for foreign investors, director of awards, Odunola Abayomi said the platform has grown into a key initiative for recognising organisations and individuals whose investments and business activities have contributed to Nigeria’s economic development.

Abayomi further said the awards also aim to encourage greater foreign participation in Nigeria’s investment landscape by celebrating excellence and strengthening confidence in the country’s business environment.

According to Abayomi, “hosting the event at the ministry of foreign affairs reflects the increasing importance of economic diplomacy in advancing Nigeria’s development agenda and attracting international investors.

“Beyond the award presentations, the programme will feature business networking sessions, cultural exhibitions and engagements designed to foster collaboration between government institutions, the diplomatic corps and private sector stakeholders.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, will serve as chief host, while the minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo, will host the event.

Organisers of the event said this year’s awards will highlight the role of expatriate businesses, foreign missions, international organisations and migrant communities in supporting Nigeria’s economy through investment, technology transfer, job creation and strategic partnerships.
